Port Douglas Carnivale gets a new format for 2012! 18th May - 26th May 2012.
This has been something that the organisers and town folk have been waiting for.....
The first weekend of Carnivale (18 – 20 May ) will be a food and wine festival, with all the popular food events including Longest Lunch, Palates of Port, Food Wine and a Taste of Port and Seafood Extravaganza held over the one weekend. The second weekend ( 25- 26 May ) will have the Street Parade (25 May ) and Beach Day (26 May). There will be lots of events during the week as well to make 2012 Carnivale a fabulous experience for locals and visitors.
So in short, the first weekend is for the Foodies and the second weekend is the family weekend, with numerous activities in the middle.
And dont forget all this is to be followed by the Challenge Cairns Adventure Festival. This is the largest long distance triathlon festival in the Far North and attracts competitors from all around the world and locally. There is an event for evryone. More on this later.
