This has been something that the organisers and town folk have been waiting for.....
The first weekend of the Port Douglas Carnivale (18 – 20 May ) will be a food and wine festival, with all the popular food events including the famous Longest Lunch, Palates of Port, Food Wine and a Taste of Port and the all time favorite; The Seafood Extravaganza held over the one weekend.
The second weekend ( 25- 26 May ) will have the much loved Street Parade (25 May ) and Port Douglas Family Beach Day (26 May). There will be lots of events during the week as well to make the 2012 Port Douglas Carnivale a fabulous experience for locals and visitors alike.
So in short, the first weekend is for the Foodies and the second weekend is the family weekend, with numerous activities in the middle.
And dont forget all this is to be followed by the Challenge Cairns Adventure Festival. This is the largest long distance triathlon festival in the Far North and attracts competitors from all around the world and locally. There is an event for evryone. More on this later.
